We know it is early but get ready, Tonbridge. The town is set to be transformed into a festive wonderland this December with the launch of the Tonbridge Christmas Fest. Running from December 12th to the 23rd, this twelve-day celebration promises to be the ultimate way to get into the holiday spirit, offering something for everyone.
The heart of the fest is the enchanting Christmas Market Village, featuring over 30 unique stalls. It’s the perfect place to discover handcrafted gifts, seasonal treats, and festive surprises for everyone on your list. As you shop, the aroma of the Food Village will surely entice you. You can indulge in classic holiday favorites like sizzling bratwurst and other delicious nibbles. Warm up with a mug of mulled wine, a rich hot chocolate, or gather ’round to toast marshmallows under the twinkling lights.
Beyond the treats and shopping, the festival is a feast for the senses. Take a stroll through the dazzling light tunnel and admire a spectacular parade of Christmas trees, each one beautifully lit. The fun continues with classic fairground rides and a busy entertainment lounge hosting a full schedule of live performances. You might even catch a glimpse of some special guests during meet and greets and find plenty of perfect spots for a festive photo.
A Welcome Return to Free Entry
For many residents, this year’s event marks a welcome return to a more accessible festive celebration. In previous years, major Christmas events at the castle, such as “Castlemas,” featured a number of ticketed attractions, including light trails and specific shows. While those events offered a unique experience, they often came with a significant cost. The decision to make the Tonbridge Christmas Fest a free-to-enter event allows the entire community to enjoy the festive market, food, and entertainment without the barrier of a ticket price. We are happy to see the festivities return to being an event that the whole community can enjoy without having to pay.
