Prepare to be swept away by an evening of grand choral and orchestral music as the Tonbridge Philharmonic Society (TPS) performs Ralph Vaughan Williams’ ‘A Sea Symphony’.

The concert is scheduled for Saturday, November 22nd, at 7:30 pm, and will be held in the magnificent Chapel of St Augustine at Tonbridge School. The TPS performance will be conducted by their Music Director, Naomi Butcher.

‘A Sea Symphony’ is a majestic work, setting the stirring poetry of Walt Whitman to music. It is widely considered Vaughan Williams’ first symphony and a milestone in British choral and symphonic music.

Featured Soloists and Programme

The society will be joined by two outstanding soloists for this epic performance:

  • Rose Johnson, Soprano
  • Johannes Moore, Baritone, who has previously performed with TPS in their earlier performance of Handel’s Messiah.

The full programme also includes Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s Cave) and Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens.
