Tonbridge is set to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving their country, with a series of Remembrance events scheduled in the borough on Sunday, November 9th, and Armistice Day, Tuesday, November 11th.
The Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, along with other dignitaries, clergy, and community groups, will participate in commemorations. Smaller services, organised by local parish councils, will also take place at war memorials in villages across the area to remember the selfless service of our armed forces.

Armistice Day: Tuesday, November 11th
The main Armistice Day ceremony in Tonbridge town centre will feature a traditional two-minute silence, beginning and ending precisely at 11:00 am and 11:02 am with the firing of maroons.
Following the silence, a short service will be held at the Town Memorial, by the Watergate. This ceremony will be attended by the Mayor of Tonbridge and the Deputy Lieutenant, Louise Bryant.
Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, Cllr Chris Brown, emphasized the enduring importance of the day: “For over a hundred years communities in our towns and villages have gathered on this day to remember and give thanks to those who gave their lives for us. It will be an honour to stand before the War Memorial to reflect on the courage and bravery of the many men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.”
