If you’re wondering when to put the bins out over Christmas and New Year, there are a few temporary changes to waste, recycling and garden waste collections in Tonbridge.
Collections will run as normal right up to and including Wednesday 24 December, but things change from Christmas Day (Thursday 25 December) onwards. Everything returns to normal from Monday 12 January 2026.
Please remember to put your bins out by 6am on your revised collection day so they don’t get missed during the busy festive period.

- Monday 22 December → Monday 22 December
- Tuesday 23 December → Tuesday 23 December
- Wednesday 24 December → Wednesday 24 December
- Thursday 25 December (Christmas Day) → Saturday 27 December
- Friday 26 December → Monday 29 December
- Monday 29 December → Tuesday 30 December
- Tuesday 30 December → Wednesday 31 December
- Wednesday 31 December → Friday 2 January
- Thursday 1 January → Saturday 3 January
- Friday 2 January → Monday 5 January
- Monday 5 January → Tuesday 6 January
- Tuesday 6 January → Wednesday 7 January
- Wednesday 7 January → Thursday 8 January
- Thursday 8 January → Friday 9 January
- Friday 9 January → Saturday 10 January
- Monday 12 January → Monday 12 January
Clinical waste collections aren’t affected and will continue as usual on Tuesdays throughout the festive period.
The changes are being managed by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, which says all services should be back on track by mid-January.
With extra wrapping paper, food waste and Christmas clear-outs, it’s a good idea to plan ahead — and maybe flatten those boxes early!
