If you’re looking for a fun, free way to get outside this Christmas, don’t miss Tonbridge’s festive winter trails, running until Sunday 4 January 2026.

We were out walking a few days ago and even managed to spot a couple of the clues ourselves — it already looks like great fun. There are three self-led trails to enjoy, taking you through Haysden Country Park, Tonbridge Racecourse Sportsground, and the Woodland Walk.

Information board about local trees at Haysden Country Park, featuring tree identification and learning activities for visitors, with a river and houses in the background.

As you explore, look out for letters hidden along the routes and collect them to spell out a festive message, while also learning about wintering birds that visit the area at this time of year.

All you need to take part is some paper and a pencil. Worksheets can be collected from Tonbridge Castle, making it easy to join in before heading out for a winter walk.

It could be a lovely activity for families, friends, or anyone who enjoys being outdoors — and a great excuse to wrap up warm and explore Tonbridge’s green spaces this festive season.
