Prostate cancer remains one of the most common cancers affecting men, and early detection can make a significant difference to outcomes. A valuable opportunity is coming to Tonbridge this May, offering local men access to potentially life-saving screening.
Event Details
Date: Saturday 16 May 2026
Time: 10:00 – 15:00
Location: Tonbridge Angel Centre, Angel Lane, Tonbridge, Kent, TN9 1SF
This PSA testing event is being organised by the Prostate Cancer Support Organisation (PCaSO) and hosted by the Tonbridge Lions Club, who continue to play a vital role in supporting community health initiatives.

Who Can Attend?
The screening is open to men aged 40–80, providing a simple blood test (PSA test) that can help identify potential prostate concerns at an early stage.
While the test is free to attend, each test costs the charity between £12 and £15, so donations on the day are warmly welcomed to help sustain future events.
What to Expect
- A PSA blood test administered by trained professionals
- An informational leaflet explaining the test and next steps
- Access to a PCaSO volunteer who can answer questions before testing
- Guidance to help you make an informed decision about your health
Attendees are encouraged to learn more about the test beforehand, including watching an educational video by Consultant Urologist Christopher Eden, which explains prostate cancer and how PSA testing works.
A Message from Tom Tugendhat
Local MP Tom Tugendhat has highlighted the importance of the event, saying:
“Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men, and early detection can make a real difference.
I’m very grateful to the Tonbridge Lions Club, who continue to play such an important role in our community, for organising free PSA screening for men aged 40–80.
The screening will take place on Saturday 16th May at the Angel Leisure Centre.
If you’re eligible, I would strongly encourage you to consider booking a slot. And if you have a partner, friend or family member who might benefit, please do share this with them..”
He also noted that while prioritising health isn’t always easy, opportunities like this make it more accessible.
