It’s the perfect place to pick up something unique while enjoying country-style entertainment like falconry and live music.

Made At The Table: Plant Pot Painting (Sunday 3rd May) Join Kate Towers for a creative afternoon at The Market House. Tonbridge Parkrun (Saturday 2nd May) Kick off your long weekend with the usual 5km loop through the Racecourse Sportsground.

Tonbridge Canoe Club: Free Paddle Open Day (Saturday 2nd May) Ever wanted to see Tonbridge from a different perspective? The Canoe Club is hosting a free open day for anyone interested in trying their hand at kayaking or canoeing. It’s open to all ages and abilities, with experienced members on hand to get you safely onto the Medway.

Tonbridge Triathlon (Monday 4th May) The big one. The Tonbridge Lions are back with their annual triathlon based at Tonbridge School. Whether you’re competing in the Standard or the Sprint distance, expect a roaring atmosphere at the finish line on the athletics track. Not racing? Head down to cheer on the athletes—it’s one of the most inspiring sights in the local sporting calendar.

Sevenoaks Spring Run (Sunday 3rd May) For those looking for a bit more of a challenge, head to Knole Park for the 5k and 10k trail runs. Running through the ancient deer park is a spectacular way to clear the head before the Bank Holiday festivities begin.


Food & Community

Tunbridge Wells Climate and Nature Fair (Sunday 3rd May) A must-visit for the eco-conscious. Calverley Grounds will be filled with “eco-stalls,” inspiring speakers, and workshops focused on sustainability. It’s a brilliant, free community event that brings together local nature enthusiasts and green businesses.

May Day Weekend at Hever Castle (Saturday 2nd – Monday 4th May) Go full “Olde England” at Hever Castle. They’ll be hosting traditional Maypole dancing on the lawn, the crowning of the May Queen, and a mythical “Green Man” trail through the gardens. It’s a quintessential Kentish way to spend the Monday.

Rochester Sweeps Festival (Sat 2nd – Mon 4th May) It’s worth the short trip up the road for this world-famous celebration. The historic streets of Rochester will burst into life with one of the largest May Day festivals in the UK.
