A New Hub for Vinyl Lovers and Sustainable Swaps

Tonbridge is set to become a little more melodic this weekend as a fresh community initiative takes root at The Market House. Organised by local enthusiasts Tom Freke and Jon Cope, Lucky Seven is an open DJ session designed to provide a platform for vinyl lovers and music fans alike.

Following a successful pilot event in April, the duo is now launching the session as a regular monthly fixture. The concept is simple but engaging: prospective DJs can book a slot in advance to play seven of their favourite tracks, with a maximum playtime of 25 minutes.

The organisers noted that their first event showcased a diverse palette of sounds, ranging from funk and 80s classics to drum and bass. The goal is to cultivate a “Sunday-sonic” atmosphere that fills a perceived gap in the local entertainment scene, offering a relaxed alternative to the standard weekend bustle.

Beyond the Decks: The Clothes Swap

The event is not solely about the music. In a bid to encourage sustainability and community sharing, The Market House will simultaneously host a Clothes Swap. Attendees are invited to bring along clothes, books, and toys to exchange with others.

To ensure the quality of the swap remains high, the organisers ask that all items brought for exchange are clean and in good condition. It is an excellent opportunity to find a new home for pre-loved treasures while discovering something “new” for yourself.
