Fancy a Halloween night out without the kids? From costume parties and spooky paddleboarding to a fireworks display with a Halloween twist, there are plenty of ways to make the most of the season around Tonbridge.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, which means there’s no excuse not to get dressed up, round up your friends and make a night of it. Whether you’re after cocktails and a DJ, something a little different, or a cosy evening watching The Traitors, here are five ideas for your Halloween plans.
1. The Market House
📅 Friday 30 October | 7pm–2am
The Market House is going all-out for Halloween with a party featuring DJs, tarot readings, hot dogs, raffle prizes and a costume competition.
Fancy dress is encouraged, with a £150 bar tab up for grabs for the best costume, whether you enter solo or as a group. There are prizes for the runners-up, too, so it’s worth putting some thought into your outfit.
There’s also a screening of The Traitors finale in the venue’s Vault from 8pm. Entry for the screening is on a first-come, first-served basis, so bear that in mind if you’re hoping to catch all the twists and accusations on the big screen.
Table bookings are open, and you can pre-order your hot dog when reserving. The organisers have also revealed that the party poster is based on a real circus poster from more than 100 years ago – a suitably eerie touch.

2. Halloween party at The Poacher & Partridge
📅 Saturday 31 October | 5pm–10pm
If your ideal Halloween involves a few drinks, good music and a dance, head to The Poacher & Partridge, where DJ Matt Gill will be providing the soundtrack for the evening.
The pub is inviting guests to dress up, bring their friends and enjoy a Halloween party with music and drinks. It’s a good option if you want a straightforward night out without committing to a full club night.
With Halloween itself falling on a Saturday, expect plenty of opportunity to show off your costume.

3. Halloween Paddle & Pizza
📅 Saturday 31 October | 3.30pm–5.30pm
Fancy swapping the dancefloor for the water? Halloween Paddle & Pizza offers a more unusual way to spend the afternoon.
The event starts from the Lower Field Car Park at The Slade in Tonbridge, with a paddleboarding session followed by pizza. It’s listed as welcoming children when accompanied by a parent, but it could also be a fun option for adults who fancy an active Halloween outing with friends.
It’s an earlier event, so you could even combine it with a pub visit or a Halloween party later that evening.
Where: Lower Field Car Park, The Slade, Tonbridge
When: Saturday 31 October, 3.30pm–5.30pm
Booking: Book Halloween Paddle & Pizza
4. Tonbridge’s Halloween-themed fireworks display
📅 Sunday 1 November | Gates open at 5pm, fireworks at 6.30pm
Halloween might be over, but the spooky atmosphere continues into November with Tonbridge’s annual fireworks display taking on a Halloween theme this year.
Held at Tonbridge Racecourse Sportsground, the event promises a display choreographed to music, with food stalls and live music to enjoy before the fireworks begin. Organised by Tonbridge Round Table, the event also raises money for local charities.
Adult tickets are £11. It’s a good choice if you’d rather enjoy a spectacular evening outdoors than spend Halloween night in a crowded bar.
Where: Tonbridge Racecourse Sportsground
When: Sunday 1 November, 5pm–7.30pm
Tickets: Book through Tonbridge Fireworks
5. Host your own The Traitors finale night
📅 Friday 30 October | From 8pm
Not everyone wants to spend Halloween in fancy dress at a party. If you’d rather stay in, the The Traitors finale is a ready-made excuse to get your friends round for a night of suspicion, snacks and questionable accusations.
Ask everyone to bring something to eat, pour a drink, and make your own predictions about who’s been playing the best game. You could even make things interesting with a sweepstake or a prize for whoever guesses the outcome correctly.
If you’re keen to watch with other fans, The Market House is also screening the finale as part of its Halloween party, with Vault entry on a first-come, first-served basis.
The plan: Gather your fellow Faithfuls, settle in and see who makes it to the end.
