Get ready for a seriously tail-wagging time in Tonbridge — this Saturday 7th June, the grounds of Tonbridge Castle will transform into a dog-lover’s dream for the Canines at the Castle event.

Running from 11:00 to around 16:30, this free community event is set to be a fantastic day out for the whole family (including the furry members). Expect a fun-filled schedule of dog shows, competitions, demos, and displays, all set against the backdrop of one of Kent’s most iconic landmarks.

What’s happening?

With over 20 different show classes spread across two arenas, there’s something for every kind of pooch – from the glamorous to the goofy. Categories include:

• Prettiest Girl
• Handsomest Boy
• Best Puppy
• Best Veteran (for the more distinguished dogs)
• Waggiest Tail (always a crowd-pleaser)
• Best Fancy Dress
• Best Handler

If your dog’s got charm, style or just an irresistibly waggy tail, this is their time to shine. Or, if you’re a dog handler, get involved and show what you can do.

Plus Demos, Agility & Scent Training

Alongside the show classes, there’ll be plenty of action to watch (or try out!) including agility courses and scent training sessions. Whether you’re looking to pick up a new skill or just want to see some very clever pups in action, this part of the event is sure to delight.

Free Entry – With a Small Fee for Dog Competitions

Entry to the event is completely free for spectators, so feel free to wander in, grab a snack, browse the stalls and enjoy the atmosphere. If you’d like to enter your dog into one or more of the show classes, there’s a small fee per entry — with prizes and rosettes up for grabs!

Stalls, Treats and More

Expect a vibrant mix of local stalls, pet products, and food vendors throughout the day. It’s a great chance to support small businesses and maybe pick up a little something for your four-legged friend.
