If you thought your outdoor swimming days were numbered once autumn hit, think again. For the first time ever, Tonbridge Swimming Pool is extending its outdoor season — right through winter.
Yep, you read that right. From October to March, the outdoor pool will stay open during peak times, giving swimmers the chance to keep up their cold-water fix or simply stay active all year round. The water will be kept at a brisk but manageable 18–20°C — refreshing, but not glacial.
Here’s when you can dive in:
- Weekdays: 6.30am–9am and 4pm–7pm
- Weekends: 8am–11am and 7pm–8pm
It’s a bit of a trial, so the team will be monitoring how many of us take the plunge over the coming months. If you love it? Use it! It could become a permanent fixture in the Tonbridge fitness scene.
Standard swim prices still apply — currently £6.10 for adults and £4.20 for juniors (concessions available). If you’re a regular, it might be worth looking into a membership for better value over the colder months.
Whether you’re an open water regular, a fair-weather dipper looking for a new winter challenge, or just someone who wants to see a sunrise from the water — now’s your chance.
And, with the new spa facilities having had a bit of a “glow up” recently, why not get a bit Scandi and combine an outdoor swim with a sauna?
See you poolside (woolly hat optional).
