It’s a bank holiday weekend, and with an extra day to enjoy, there are plenty of events in and around Tonbridge to explore. From live music and festivals to family fun and wellness, here’s our curated guide to the best events happening this weekend.

Festivals & Celebrations

Tonbridge River Walk Festival: Enjoy live music by the river with great company, food, and drinks. There are only three more events this summer, we can’t quite believe it. This week, the band performing is ‘No Big Deal’ When: Friday, 22nd August, 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM Where: River Walk, Tonbridge. Full details here.

Summer Band Concerts at the Castle: Bring a blanket and a picnic to the Tonbridge Castle Bailey Lawn to enjoy a free concert. This weekend, the Roarin’ 20’s Band will be performing. When: Sunday, 24th August, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Where: Tonbridge Castle. Full details here. (Note – this event is cancelled).

Local & Live Festival: Tunbridge Wells’ free music festival returns for a four-day celebration of local, grassroots music. Expect a great atmosphere, two large bars, and a host of local food and drink vendors. Events take place in various venues across the town, Calverley Gardens, the Sussex Arms and the Forum, to name a few. Full details can be found here.

Family Fun

Camp Wildfire: The adult adventure festival is back for another year. Take part in over 100 activities from axe throwing to stargazing, all while enjoying live music, DJ sets, and great food. Children’s Theatre in Sevenoaks: Bring a rug and a picnic to enjoy a free, eco-inspired children’s outdoor theatre performance of “Fungi Frida and the Myco Heroes.” When: Friday, 22nd August, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM Where: The Vine Gardens, Sevenoaks. Full details here.

Health & Wellness

Parkrun: Join this free, weekly 5k run, jog, or walk open to all ages and abilities. Why not make it social? Meet a friend there and head to 65mm for coffee afterwards. When: Saturday, 23rd August, 9:00 AM Where: Racecourse Park, Tonbridge (TN9 1HR)

New Moon Ritual: Gather in a sacred space to channel the powerful manifestation energies of the New Moon. The ritual will include a cacao ceremony, breathwork, meditation, and journaling. When: Saturday, 23rd August, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Where: Flourish Wellness, Penshurst. Full details here.
