Tonbridge is gearing up for a weekend of culinary delights as the Tonbridge Food & Drink Festival returns to the Tonbridge Racecourse Sportsground on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September. This much-loved annual event invites visitors to “fill up their taste buds” with flavours from Kent and across the globe, making it a highlight of the town’s late-summer calendar.

Over 70 stallholders will be setting up shop, offering the chance to try, taste, and buy a dazzling range of food and drink. From Kentish cheeses, artisan breads, and indulgent cakes to fudge, chocolate brownies, and sweet treats galore, there’s something for every palate. For those who love a good brew, the festival also showcases locally roasted coffee and specialist teas, alongside stalls featuring international delicacies and food-related crafts.

Fun for All the Family

The festival isn’t just about browsing and eating—there’s a packed line-up of family-friendly activities to keep all ages entertained. A highlight will be the live cooking demonstrations from popular local chefs, food producers, and food writers, who will share their skills, tips, and recipes throughout the weekend. It’s an opportunity to watch experts in action and maybe pick up a few tricks to try at home.

A Weekend to Savour

This year’s festival weekend is set to be extra special, as it coincides with the Tonbridge Lions’ Dragon Boat Race on Sunday 7th September at the Watergate by Big Bridge in the High Street. That means visitors can enjoy a feast of flavours at the Racecourse, then wander down to the river to catch the action as teams battle it out in colourful dragon boats from 9:30am to 3:00pm, followed by the grand final.

It’s the perfect combination: delicious food, exciting sport, and a fantastic community atmosphere—all in one weekend.
