The Tonbridge Lions Club hosted its annual free diabetes testing day on Saturday, September 14, at the Big Bridge in Tonbridge. The event drew an impressive crowd of over 260 local residents eager to take proactive steps toward their health.
Despite early morning rain, the community’s commitment to health awareness was clear as people turned out in large numbers. Among the 266 individuals screened, 17 were referred for further medical checks. These results underscore the importance of early detection in managing and treating diabetes.
The event received support from the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, Cllr. Chris Brown, who praised the Lions for their dedication to public health.
“We are delighted with the turnout and very grateful to EMATS for performing the screening service,” a spokesperson for the Tonbridge Lions said. “These results underline why regular testing is so vital. A simple check can make a real difference in people’s lives.”
