Drivers in and around Tonbridge should be aware of an upcoming temporary road closure and no-right-turn restriction on the A26 Quarry Hill Road (Northbound) this November.
According to National Highways, essential survey works will require a partial closure of the A26 from Monday 10th November 2025, with work expected to finish by Saturday 15th November 2025.
When the closure will happen
The northbound section of A26 Quarry Hill Road — near the bridge over the A21 — will be closed overnight only, between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
During these times, there will also be no right turn from the A21 Southbound Off-slip onto the A26 Quarry Hill Road Northbound.
Alternative routes
Drivers are advised to follow the signed diversion route via:
- A26 Quarry Hill Road
- A2014 Pembury Road
…and vice versa for southbound journeys.
Pedestrian access
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the works, so those walking in the area shouldn’t be affected.

The restrictions are in place to ensure the safety of both the public and the workforce while National Highways carries out the planned survey works.
