The upgraded outdoor gym at Tonbridge’s Racecourse Sportsground is now open, offering a larger, more practical space for anyone looking to exercise outdoors.
The new area features a cushioned, tarmac-style surface and a wide range of Kompan Fit equipment designed for different abilities and workout styles. Each station includes simple pointers to help users get the most from their session, and QR codes link directly to the Kompan Fit app for workout ideas and equipment guides.

The selection includes equipment for both strength and cardio training — from a pull-up bar and step-up platforms to a sit-up bench and fixed kettlebells. The kettlebells, which are securely attached to prevent theft (and I assume for safety), provide a genuine weight-training option rarely found in public outdoor gyms (the weight goes up to 12kg).

With plenty of choice for different fitness levels, the new setup is intended to be both accessible and functional, giving residents a space that supports everything from a light stretch to a more focused workout.

The gym sits alongside the recently refurbished tennis courts, completing the latest round of improvements at the Racecourse Sportsground.
I know it’s not quite the weather for it, but why not give it a try on your next trip to the park?
