Tonbridge residents are urged to note an important traffic change for next weekend: the High Street will be closed to vehicles this Sunday, 30th November, 2025, for the highly anticipated Tonbridge Rotary Christmas Festival.

The closure is extensive to ensure public safety throughout the event. The High Street will be inaccessible to traffic from 08:00 until 20:30.

Plan Your Journey

Drivers must plan alternative routes and be aware that the closure is required for the entire day. Public transport users are advised to check local bus routes for diversions or schedule changes that will be in place throughout the day.

Festival Details

The festival, a free and popular community celebration organised by Tonbridge Rotary, runs from 14:00 to 18:00. The High Street will be transformed into a bustling Christmas market featuring local businesses, food, drink, and live performances.

A family fun fair will also be set up in the Sovereign Way Mid car park, complete with rides, side shows, and games.

The highlight of the event, the official Christmas lights switch-on, will take place at 17:00 at the Big Bridge (near River Walk). The evening will conclude with a firework finale to light up the night sky.
