We’ve compiled your complete guide to all the festive magic happening within a quick 35-minute drive from Tonbridge, all confirmed for the 2025 Christmas season.
On Your Doorstep: Tonbridge’s Homegrown Christmas Magic
You don’t even have to leave the town to find top-notch festive cheer, with the historic Tonbridge Castle acting as your local winter wonderland.
The main celebration is the Tonbridge Christmas Fest, which runs daily from December 12 to December 23. This is a full-scale festive village experience right on your doorstep), featuring over 30 stalls for handmade gifts, a bustling food village with sizzling bratwurst, festive hot chocolates, and the cosy tradition of toasting marshmallows.
A Short Hop to Tunbridge Wells: Historic Charm & Twinkling Lights
A quick drive down the A26 or train ride will take you to Tunbridge Wells.
The Pantiles Christmas Markets run across weekends from November 14 right up to Christmas Eve, December 24. The Pantiles is transformed into an enchanting spectacle. The wooden chalets, twinkling lights, and live musical performances on the bandstand create a sophisticated, festive atmosphere.
Worth the Extra Few Minutes: Historic Backdrops
For a grand, traditional experience, the Rochester Christmas Market is set in the magnificent grounds of Rochester Castle (about a 33-minute drive). This is one of Kent’s biggest markets, featuring over 100 stalls, a Bavarian food village, and a children’s funfair. It runs across three main weekends: with the final one being December 12–14.
A little further afield, Canterbury Christmas Market is always a good idea! The elaborate Christmas spectacle runs right through to December 24th – ideal for last minute gifts.
Finally, for something a little different – why not head to Folkestone for the Harbour Arm Festive Marketplace. It promises to be a Christmas oasis, with stalls, plenty of yummy food offerings and even festive films streamed for free.
