1. Rapunzel at EM Forster Theatre

8 – 11 January

The Talentz Musical Theatre Company brings the festive season to a close with this high-energy pantomime. Expect a live band, big costumes and plenty of laughs — a final family treat before January fully settles in.


2. Tonbridge Comedy Night

Friday 16 January

Beat the January blues with a packed stand-up line-up including Paul F Taylor and Markus Birdman. These comedy nights are a Tonbridge staple and often sell out.


3. National Theatre Live: Hamlet

Thursday 22 January

Watch the National Theatre’s acclaimed production of Hamlet on the big screen at the EM Forster Theatre — a thoughtful, dramatic January evening out.


4. The Ronnie Scott’s Story

Friday 30 January

A celebration of the world-famous jazz club, combining live music and storytelling from the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars. A classy way to end the month.


5. Lord of the Flies at The Oast Theatre

15 – 17 January

The Oast Youth Theatre presents Nigel Williams’ gripping stage adaptation of the classic novel. Atmospheric, intense and impressively performed.


6. Janet Young Studio Double Bill

23 – 25 January

An intimate weekend of experimental and locally produced performances in the Oast Theatre’s studio space. Ideal if you enjoy smaller, exploratory theatre.


7. Welcome to the Neighbourhood

24 – 25 January

A spooky pantomime tale at EM Forster Theatre. The 8th annual winter pantomime written and directed by Chris Park. Expect a lot of laughs.

8. Band of the Scots Guard in Concert

Wednesday 14 January

One of the UK’s premier military bands performs at Tonbridge School, with a programme ranging from traditional marches to lighter popular pieces.


9. Timothy Rundle & Caroline Palmer

Sunday 18 January

Presented by Tonbridge Music Club, this morning concert at the Parish Church features works by Mozart and Saint-Saëns — refined and uplifting.


10. Marlon Live at The Maid of Kent

Friday 9 January

Kick off the month with live music at The Maid of Kent, with Marlon performing an evening set in this popular local venue. Expect reggae, soul and motown.

11. Wetherspoons Pub Quiz at The Humphrey Bean

Wednesday 14 January

A classic midweek quiz night in the heart of town — relaxed, competitive and always well attended. It usually kicks off between 18:30-19:00 with all entry fees going to charity.


12. Fuggles Quiz Night at Fuggles Beer Cafe

Tuesday 27 January | 7:30pm

Fuggles’ popular monthly quiz returns with craft beer, good-natured competition and prizes. £2 entry per person.

13. Ladies Who Launch – Paddle with Ana

Every Friday in January

A supportive, women-only SUP session on the Medway with Paddle with Ana. Designed to build confidence, connection and skills — even in winter layers.


14. Walk Tonbridge Club: Mud-Free Winter Hike

Sunday 18 January | 09:30 – 12:30

A relaxed 6-mile winter walk from North Tonbridge towards Hildenborough, mostly on quiet country lanes to avoid mud. Expect pretty countryside, a sociable pace and a stop at Ridings Café for takeaway hot drinks. Dogs welcome.


15. Tonbridge Parkrun – January Dates to Know

3, 10, 17, 24 & 31 January

Five parkruns in one month. Whether you’re running, jogging or walking, January is one of the most motivating times to join the Tonbridge Parkrun community.

16. Tonbridge Farmers’ Market

Sunday 11 January

The first market of 2026 returns with fresh local produce, artisan food and Kentish makers — a welcome reset after Christmas indulgence.


17. Tonbridge Repair Café

Saturday 17 January

Held at St Stephen’s Church, this monthly community event helps repair broken household items with volunteer fixers. Practical, friendly and sustainable.
