The Oast Theatre in Tonbridge is set to host a gripping production of Sam Holcroft’s A Mirror, a darkly comedic political thriller that explores the precarious nature of truth and art. Directed by Ian Tucker-Bell, the play runs from Saturday 7th February to Saturday 14th February 2026.
A Wedding with a Secret
Set within the stifling confines of a totalitarian state, the narrative follows a rebel group attempting to bypass the watchful eye of the Ministry of Culture. In a world where every script must be vetted and approved, the group chooses to stage an illegal play under the guise of a wedding ceremony.
The production is described as an explosively entertaining look at the search for love and truth in a society that actively devalues both. Audiences can expect a story where nothing is quite as it seems, blending tension with a sharp, cynical humour.
Performance Details and Local Offers
The production has a running time of approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes, which includes a 20-minute interval.
Theatre-goers can also take advantage of a local partnership with the Never Say Never restaurant. By presenting a valid Oast Theatre ticket on the date of the performance, patrons will receive a 20% discount on pre-show food.
