The search is officially on for Tonbridge and Malling’s local heroes as nominations open for this year’s Community Awards Scheme.
Organised by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, the annual scheme returns to recognise the dedicated individuals, groups, and organisations who go above and beyond to make a lasting, positive impact across the borough.
Celebrating the Heart of Our Community
From tireless volunteers who give up their weekends to inspiring young leaders making a difference, the awards aim to celebrate outstanding contributions to community life, volunteering, and local service.
Whether it is a neighbor who always lends a helping hand, a young person stepping up for others, or a grassroots group driving real change, residents are strongly encouraged to put forward the people who make Tonbridge and Malling a better place to live.
“We are proud to bring back the Community Awards Scheme following last year’s success,” said Cllr Des Keers, Cabinet Member for Community Services. “We want to recognise the incredible efforts of those who help make our borough a better place to live, work, and socialise. These awards are a chance to celebrate the people who give their time, energy, and passion to support others and strengthen Tonbridge and Malling.”
Award Categories
This year’s awards cover a wide range of contributions to local life, including:
- Individual Volunteer of the Year: Recognising adults who give selflessly of their time.
- Young Community Champion: Celebrating remarkable young leaders aged 17 and under.
- Outstanding Community Group: Honouring local groups and organisations driving positive impact.
- Environmental Contribution Award: Spotlighting those working to protect and improve our local green spaces and environment.
- Community Safety Award: Celebrating efforts to keep local neighborhoods safe and connected.

Nominations are open to all residents across the borough of Tonbridge and Malling.
