The 1st Tonbridge Brownie Unit has received a practical boost thanks to a £200 donation from the Tonbridge Lions Club. The funds are earmarked to improve how the youth group stores and organises its vital weekly resources.
On Tuesday 7 July, Immediate Past President Phil Jesson visited the Brownies’ headquarters at Christ Church Hall in Tonbridge to officially present the cheque to Unit Leader Natasha Phillpott.
Securing Resources for Future Generations
The £200 grant will allow the unit to purchase a selection of specialized “Really Useful” storage and accessory boxes. This new system will provide a secure, organised home for the group’s extensive collection of craft materials, games equipment, badges, and other essential supplies.
Beyond keeping the meeting space tidy, the robust new containers will serve several practical purposes:
- Protection: Safeguarding delicate craft supplies and equipment from environmental damage.
- Loss Prevention: Reducing the likelihood of small, valuable items misplacing over time.
- Transport Safety: Making it safer and easier for leaders to move materials when required.
- Longevity: Ensuring that existing resources remain in excellent condition for future generations of Brownies to enjoy.

This latest donation highlights the Tonbridge Lions Club’s ongoing dedication to investing in the town’s youth organisations and community groups. By providing targeted financial support, the Lions aim to help these vital local clubs continue offering enriching opportunities for young people across the Tonbridge area.
