As summer draws to a close, the Oast Theatre is preparing to enchant audiences once again with a season brimming with dramaticity, charm, and emotional depth.
Kicking off on 18 September, Second Person Narrative, a fresh and inventive production by Jemma Kennedy, will open the season under the direction of Jason Lower. Later that month, on 26 September, TOWRAG arrives with an air of mystery—an intriguing addition whose full nature remains under wraps, guaranteed to spark local curiosity.
October turns passionate with A Streetcar Named Desire, scheduled for 11–18 October, offering a powerful and intimate take on Tennessee Williams’ timeless drama. This is followed by Quartet on 8 November, anchoring the season with ensemble flair and nuanced storytelling.
All performances will unfold in the theatre’s cosy 112-seat auditorium—a venue steeped in community spirit and rich theatrical tradition. Since its founding in 1974 within a former hop-drying oast house, the theatre has cultivated a distinctive local presence—not just onstage, but also through youth play productions, art sessions, and its popular annual Janet Young Room exhibition.
