I know it’s only March, but we are already seeing signs of blossom peaking out in Tonbridge!
As spring settles in, Tonbridge starts to brighten up with all sorts of blossom. Whether you’re out for a short walk or just fancy a change of scene, there are a few places around town where the trees are putting on a gentle seasonal show. Here’s where to head if you’d like to catch some blossom over the next month or so.

🌿 White Blackthorn Blossom at Haysden Park

If you’ve walked around Haysden recently, you might’ve noticed the hedgerows starting to burst into life with white blackthorn blossom. It lines the paths towards Barden Lake and adds a soft brightness to the landscape. It’s especially nice in the early morning when it’s a bit quieter and the light is gentle.
Good to know: The Café in the Park is open daily if you fancy a coffee to take with you on your stroll.
💗 Bright Pink Crab Apple Blossom at Medway Wharf

Tucked away near the paths around Medway Wharf, there’s a large grab apple tree with blooms that turn the brightest pink. It’s not the most obvious spot, but if you walk along the Medway Wharf Road side of the river you’ll see it.
Why we like it: It’s usually a peaceful place, and the colour of the blossoms really stands out on a grey spring day. Bonus, there’s also a white cherry tree just beside it.
🌸 Cherry Blossom at the Entrance to Tonbridge School

The top of the pops for blossom in Tonbridge has to be the lovely cherry tree just near the entrance to Tonbridge School. It’s well worth going out of your way to see it! It’s one of the first to bloom and adds a soft pink touch to the entranceway. It doesn’t last long, so it’s best to catch it whilst you can!
Tip: It’s easiest to spot from the pavement that runs past the school—no need to go inside the grounds.
