Residents visiting the Racecourse Sportsground will notice a striking change to the local landscape. The public tennis courts have undergone a significant refurbishment, swapping the traditional black macadam for a vibrant, modern blue and green colour scheme.
This aesthetic overhaul is part of a broader commitment by Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council to enhance local leisure facilities. The new high-visibility surface is designed to improve playability and provides a fresh, professional feel to the site. Beyond the new colours, the upgrade includes fresh line markings and improved fencing to ensure the courts remain a top-tier resource for the community.
A Summer of Sporting Upgrades
The resurfacing of the courts follows closely on the heels of the recently expanded outdoor gym. Located adjacent to the tennis facilities, the gym was overhauled to accommodate up to 21 users at a time with a variety of new equipment, including a calisthenics unit, pull-up bars, and mobility-accessible machines.
Together, these improvements transform the Racecourse Sportsground into a versatile hub for fitness and recreation, catering to all ages and skill levels in the heart of Tonbridge.

The courts now feature a brand-new automated access system, making it easier than ever to secure a slot. To book a court, please follow these simple steps:
- Visit Clubspark: Go to the official booking website at www.clubspark.lta.org.uk.
- Create an Account: Sign in to your existing account or register for a new one.
- Select “Book a Court”: Navigate to the booking section within the portal.
- Search for Location: Enter Racecourse Sportsground to find the Tonbridge courts.
- Choose Your Time: Select your preferred day and time slot from the available calendar.
- Complete Payment: Follow the prompts to finish the online payment process.
- Receive Your Code: Once confirmed, you will receive a one-time 4 or 6-digit access code via email. Simply enter this code at the gate to gain entry for your session.
