Acclaimed Professor to Discuss Self-Delusion in Jane Austen’s Novels
Tonbridge book lovers are invited to a special literary event next month right here at the Tonbridge Parish Church.
Professor John Mullan, a leading authority on Jane Austen, will present a lecture titled “Self Delusion in Jane Austen’s Novels” on Tuesday, 10 December 2025.
The talk will explore the clever ways Austen used self-delusion and mistaken identity in classics like Pride and Prejudice. Professor Mullan is a respected academic from University College London and a regular literary expert on the BBC.
The lecture runs from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
