Residents of Tonbridge are in for a treat this week as The Talentz Musical Theatre Company prepares to take the stage at the EM Forster Theatre. Running from the 8th to the 11th of January, their latest production, Rapunzel, promises to be a “hair-raising” adventure for the whole family.
This year’s panto invites audiences back to the Kingdom of Talentzia for a story filled with familiar faces and brand-new laughs. The script follows Rapunzel’s quest to escape her lonely tower, aided by a colourful cast of characters including Prince Luke, Bobby Pin, and the formidable Dame Bunty.
A Tale of Two Casts
To accommodate their large company of young performers, The Talentz will be utilizing two distinct casts, known as Cast Shampoo and Cast Conditioner. If you are looking to support a specific performer, be sure to check the performance schedule:
- Thursday 8th Jan (7pm): Cast Shampoo
- Friday 9th Jan (7pm): Cast Conditioner
- Saturday 10th Jan (2pm): Cast Conditioner
- Saturday 10th Jan (7pm): Cast Shampoo
- Sunday 11th Jan (12pm): Cast Shampoo
- Sunday 11th Jan (4pm): Cast Conditioner
Live Music and Bespoke Script
The production features a live band, ensuring the energy in the theatre remains high throughout the musical numbers. With a bespoke script written specifically for this company, locals can expect plenty of Tonbridge-specific humour and a fresh take on the classic fairy tale. The organisers have also issued a light-hearted warning: “This show contains lots of fabulous fairies!”
