I love June in Tonbridge, in fact, I love the whole summer. But June is when it feels like Tonbridge properly comes to life. The evenings stretch out, the river gets busier, and the calendar fills up quickly with a mix of fitness, food, theatre, and festivals. It is one of the easiest months to find something to do after work as well as at the weekend.
Here is your fully streamlined Tonbridge Bean guide to June 2026.
1/ Parkrun (Every Saturday: 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th June 2026)

The weekly 5k at the Racecourse Sportsground is a core part of the local routine. June gives us four chances to run, jog, or walk along the river. Open to all abilities and completely free—just don’t forget your barcode.
2/ Tri-Swim Open Water Swimming (Thursday and Friday Nights Throughout June 2026)
As the weather warms up, evening swimming sessions return to Haysden Country Park. Managed by Tri-Swim, these lake sessions are perfect for triathletes looking to train or anyone wanting a refreshing, safe open-water dip after work.
3/ Social River Paddles (throughout June)

If you love paddle boarding and you’d like to join a social on the river, there are plenty throughout June to choose from. Epic Life has regular mid-week paddle socials, the standout highlight of the month is the Cocktail Paddle on Wednesday, 17th June, featuring a relaxing glide down the river capped off with drinks on the water courtesy of Verdigris.
You can also find popular “Ladies who Launch” events on Friday mornings with Paddle with Ana.
4/ Yoga Paddle Boarding Sessions (Thursday, 4th June & Sunday, 28th June 2026)

Epic Life is hosting a series of relaxed 90-minute stand-up paddleboard (SUP) yoga sessions on the river. The first class kicks off on Thursday, 4th June at 18:30. If you prefer a morning session, the Sunday morning classes begin on 28th June at 09:30 (with more dates running into July and August). Expect a brief paddle to a quiet, scenic spot followed by 60 minutes of relaxing yoga designed to test your balance and calm your mind.
5/ National Theatre Live at the EMF Theatre (Thursday, 4th June & Friday, 26th June 2026)
The EM Forster Theatre brings world-class London stage performances to our doorstep this month via big-screen broadcasts:
- Thursday, 4th June (7:00 PM): The Playboy of the Western World, starring Nicola Coughlan and Siobhán McSweeney.
- Friday, 26th June (7:00 PM): Les Liaisons Dangereuses, featuring Lesley Manville and Aidan Turner.
6/ Illyria Presents: Pinocchio (Friday, 5th June 2026)
Pack a picnic blanket and head to the Tonbridge Castle Bailey Lawn for a wonderful outdoor theatre performance. Renowned troupe Illyria brings the classic story of Pinocchio to life in an energetic, family-friendly production.
7/ Hoppers Summer Show at The Oast Theatre (Saturday, 6th June 2026)

The Oast Theatre’s youth section presents a fantastic double-bill of one-act plays: The Secret Under the School and Shadow City. It’s a fast-paced, high-energy afternoon of local community theatre.
8/ Live Wrestling at the Angel Centre (Saturday, 6th June 2026)
Looking for something completely different? The Angel Centre is hosting an action-packed afternoon of live wrestling. Expect high-flying moves and plenty of drama that will keep the kids entertained. Full details can be found here.
9/ National Brick Event (Sunday, 7th June 2026)

10/ Tonbridge Comedy Night (Friday, 12th June 2026)
Lonestar Comedy returns to the EM Forster Theatre for its regular monthly showcase. Featuring a brilliant lineup of professional touring comedians, it’s an ideal excuse for a few Friday night drinks and a laugh. These shows usually sell out, so book early. We went to this event a few months ago and it was great fun.
11/ The Usual Suspects Live at Market House (Saturday, 13th June 2026)
The Market House keeps up its reputation for excellent live music weekends. Head into the center of town on Saturday night to catch popular local band The Usual Suspects playing crowd favorites and dancefloor classics.
12/ 90s Silent Disco at Tonbridge Castle (Saturday, 13th June 2026)

Dance on the illuminated castle grounds at this unique over-18s event running from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Put on your LED headphones and switch between three separate DJ channels spinning non-stop 90s anthems while the historic walls light up around you. Find the full details here.
13/ TJFC Football Fiesta (Saturday, 13th June – Sunday, 14th June 2026)
The Racecourse Sportsground will be buzzing all weekend as Tonbridge Junior Football Club hosts its massive annual youth football tournament. Come down to support local grass-roots sports, enjoy the stalls, and soak up the community atmosphere. Full details here.
14/ Tonbridge Farmers’ Market (Sunday, 14th June 2026)

One of Kent’s absolute best award-winning markets returns to the Sovereign Way car park near the castle from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. It’s the perfect place to grab hot street food for breakfast, stock up on fresh local produce, or find unique artisan crafts. Full details here.
15/ Glorious Gardens Weekend at Penshurst Place (Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June 2026)

16/ FIFA World Cup 2026: England Group Stages (Starting Wednesday, 17th June 2026)
The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off this month across North America, and the Three Lions start their campaign in Group L. You can catch the matches live on the big screens at excellent local sports pubs like The George & Dragon on the High Street or The Nelson Arms . Mark your calendars for England’s opening matches:

17/ Brilliance in the Room at The Oast Theatre (Saturday, 20th June – Saturday, 27th June 2026)
The main house at The Oast Theatre presents a full-scale, stunning period costume extravaganza written and directed by Phil Porter. Brilliance in the Room features original music, impressive special effects, and a cast of memorable characters battling the quirks of fate.
18/ English Wine Week (20 to 28th June 2026)
June is the prime time to celebrate local vineyards at English Wine Week. Keep an eye out for special seasonal tasting events at our three closest vineyards: Balfour Winery (Staplehurst), Mereworth Wines (Mereworth), and Yotes Court (Mereworth).
19/ Father’s Day (21st June 2026)
If you’re looking to treat Dad over the Father’s Day weekend, there are plenty of fantastic options happening just on our doorstep. Check out fathers day events at Balfour Winery, Hever’s Home Front 2026 (Take a trip back to the 1940s at Hever Castle across Father’s Day weekend. Expect vintage vehicles, live swing music, traditional stalls, and wartime re-enactments), or just grab a nice cup of coffee locally.
20/ International Yoga Day (Sunday, 21st June 2026)

Celebrate international yoga day with open air yoga at the castle on the lawn. Last year’s event was well attended. The event is free, but you need to register. It runs from 09:30 to 12:30 with meditation and yoga.
21/ The Tonbridge Business Awards 2026 (Thursday, 25th June 2026)
Hosted at the EM Forster Theatre, this annual black-tie evening celebrates the best independent businesses, startups, and enterprises that make Tonbridge thrive. The evening kicks off at 7:00 PM with a glass of local Mereworth sparkling wine and canapés before the ceremony moves into the main auditorium. Full details of finalists can be found here.
22/ Angel Fest 2026 (26th to 28th June 2026)
This year, the popular “Angel Fest” will return from the 26th to 28th June 2026. You can expect plenty of beer, music and fun. Full details are to be published here in due course.
23/ Carmen in Concert by the Tonbridge Philharmonic (Saturday, 27th June 2026)
The Tonbridge Philharmonic Society closes out its 2025/26 season with a massive choral and orchestral concert. They will be performing Bizet’s thrilling opera Carmen in concert format at Kent College (Pembury), starting at 7:30 PM.
24/ Supercar Charity Rally (Sunday, 28th June 2026)
This huge, free family day out takes over Tonbridge from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. In partnership with the Mason Foundation, the event features a spectacular display of over 100 supercars (including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and McLarens) alongside 50 classic Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Full details here.

25/ Summer Band Concerts Launch (Starting Sunday, 28th June 2026)

The castle’s incredibly popular free summer live music series officially kicks off on the lawn. Pack a picnic, bring a deck chair, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of music featuring the West Kent Concert Band. The event runs from 14:00 to 17:00.
26/ Walk Tonbridge Events
Walk Tonbridge are hosting three lovely events this June. Walk Tonbridge Penshurst to Kingdom circular on 14th June, Sunset Social on 25th June and the Summer Birds of Tonbridge walk on the 29th June. Details for all events can be found here.
27/ Fuggles Craft Ale Quiz Night (Tuesday, 30th June 2026)
End the month by testing your trivia at Fuggles on the High Street. Their monthly quiz nights are famously fun, highly competitive, and the perfect excuse to try a brilliant rotation of local craft beers. Tables fill up very quickly, so booking in advance is a must
